The Nursing and Midwifery Research Group

Nursing and Midwifery research in the School of Health is led by Jacqueline Parkes, Principal lecturer-Nursing Research and Consultancy Developments. The N&MRG was established in early 2005 to encourage and support research and consultancy activities throughout all aspects of nursing and midwifery, and further enhance the research portfolio within the school. We have two strands, which are robust within this field; service evaluation and review, and educational delivery and evaluation. Both elements have been successful in attracting external funding. • Evaluation of the Roles/responsibilities of the Graduate Mental Health Worker
• Exploration of the Health Needs of Young People Across Northamptonshire (Centre for Children & Youth, School of Health, Health Scrutiny Partnership)
• Modernising the School Nursing Service Daventry & South Northants PCT
• Evaluation of school-based Multi-agency Drop-In Services Operating in Northamptonshire Heartlands
• Evaluation of School Based Multi-Agency Drop-In Services Operating in Daventry and South Northants PCT
• Review of the District Nursing Services in Daventry & South Northants PCT
• Exploration of the needs and experiences of nursing and midwifery students with dyslexia in clinical practice ad how best they could be supported (Funded by Higher education Academy).
