Mike gained two under-graduate degrees, one in Podiatry from Salford University and the other in Health Science from the University of Leicester. He then undertook an M.Phil at The University of Leicester in developing a computer coding system for use in healthcare. More recently he completed a PhD at The University of Northampton investigating how Computer Expert Systems can aid decision-making in healthcare. Recently Mike undertook a Medici Fellowship to create enterprise in the University and is currently undertaking an MBA. His current research is focussing on how Genetic Algorithms and Neural Networks can help interpret the planar patterns generated by commercial gait analysis systems.

Areas of Research

Areas of current research interest are focused in two areas

  • Current research is focusing on how Genetic Algorithms and Neural Networks can help interpret the planar patterns generated by commercial gait analysis systems.

The Medici fellowship should aid dialogue with the information technology sector in industry and help with commercialisation of software produced from research.
