Student Perspective

What do the students say?

"I really enjoy the History course at UN because of the wide range of interesting topics it covers, from Crime to Colonialism. It’s challenging, but the tutors are always available and provide encouragement. Also, their passion for the subject fuels my own."

Dusna Chauhan, BA History with Education Graduate .

"The History degree at UN offers a programme of study which is varied and interesting. The teaching staff offer support and encouragement throughout the year, and, if times get tough, they are on hand to listen, advise and motivate students in order to achieve their aims. The challenges and rewards associated with studying History provide a stimulating learning experience, and the prospect of graduating in 2005 will be a proud achievement."

Michelle Knibb, BA History Graduate.

"I started my degree at another institution and found it bland and unoriginal. I transferred to UN with some anxiety, but am really glad I came. The lecturers are really diverse and unique in their approaches to history. They keep your attention and make you want to work hard."

Carrie Lyall, Second Year Student, BA History and English.

"My experience of History at UN has been a positive one. The tutors are easy to contact and helpful, giving both educational and emotional support. I have found that the areas of history studied are interesting with a wide and accessible historiography."

Laura Presland, BA History Graduate.
