NBS Research
Northampton Business School is a research active part of The University of Northampton. We have over 30 research active staff and eight qualified supervisors. Professor Nada Kakabadse is our Director of Research Students and Programmes. She is an internationally renowned 5* researcher who is joint editor of the journal 'Corporate Governance'. She has four visiting professorships in international universities and an extensive publication list.
In addition, Northampton Business School is home to two thriving research centres and engages with business and the public sector through consultancy and knowledge transfer. Areas of research expertise include corporate governance, international relations, entrepreneurship, human resource management and leadership. Specialising in applied research, the Centre for Learning and Enterprise in Organisations has received over £3m in grants since 2004 to develop and apply new methods of supporting enterprise and business creation.
Specialist areas of research include business creation, social enterprise, business incubation, the ingredients of enterprise and regional economic development. The China & Transitional Economics Research Centre is dedicated to research in the political economy of China, Chinese environmental protection, agriculture and rural development, regional economic development and policies, and issues of property rights and corporate governance in the transitional economies of Eastern Europe, Russia and China. Recognised locally as a valuable resource, the Centre provides consultancy and research to both public and private organisations in the region.
